Have a Coffee Bun! Available at Leona’s (Mabolo).
This is one unique bread, if only for its effort to reflect the economic crisis. There’s 3-in-1 coffee, and now we have 2-in-1 breakfast — coffee and bread combined. How brilliant!
The coating is the tasty part – the taste of coffee is distinct but mild. The bread is soft and not sweet. There’s a surprise inside too, maybe the baker didn’t intend for it to be one, but I was surprised to find it in there. So what’s the surprise?
There’s a dollop of salted butter in it, but it can’t be seen in the photo.
The bread doesn’t look appetizing, but it sure tastes a hundred times better than it looks.

hi ching,
i first tasted coffee bun when i was sent to manila for work. when i got back coffee bun is everywhere in cebu. i’ve seen it in ayala – gourmet bakeshop sa rustans and leonas. even mai2 went gaga for awhile over it. the one from gourmet’s doesn’t taste as good as that of leonas’.

Okay, so best gyud diay ang Leona’s ani? Haven’t tasted the ones from other bakeshops. Bag-o lang ko ka-discover naa diay ingani na bread hehe.

Lagi, I’ll drop by one of these days. Berg and Fedge were there during the opening, if I’m not mistaken, they know the owner. Fedge or Berg will be blogging about their experience one of these days. They already have the pictures, ang text nalang kulang *hint*hint*

haha… lagi wla pa nahuman ang akong Kopi Roti experience blog… work in progress pa na.. pero everytime i hear the recording murag malingaw mn ko.. basin ako rasad ang malingaw lagi hahaha…
