My friend Queenie suggested we go to Siam for dinner. It was usually up to me to decide where the group would dine, and I was glad that the burden was off my shoulders. Siam at The Terraces was a hit that day.
Siam Sampler (Php 220)

We started with the Siam Sampler, which has four treats – chicken pandan, prawn patties, crispy beef in sesame seeds, and crispy spring rolls. There were three different sauces that went well with the fried stuff. That was a winning appetizer for me.
Thai Mango Salad (Php 95) and Fried Squid in Garlic (Php 170)

The Thai Mango Salad was my choice. I thought that having a sweet or sour mango to go with our mostly fried dishes will be a good respite for our tongues from the oil. And indeed, the Thai Mango Salad turned out to be great. Nothing earth-shattering mind you, but something nice to order again.
Fried Squid in Garlic was a bit of a disappointment to me. I like seafood, especially squid. But for some reason, the fried squid in garlic did not wow me that night. When I go back to eat at Siam, I might order it again to see if it was just me or this squid dish was just too plain.
Thai Crispy Pata (Php 330) and Thai Grilled Spareribs (Php 220)

The pork dishes of Siam is something meat lovers like Fedge would thoroughly enjoy. The Thai Crispy Pata with Thai Herb Sauce was a best-seller for a reason. The Crispy Pata was delicious; the herb sauce has a unique taste that I didn’t like very much though. I like exploring different flavors, but that was one flavor that didn’t register very well with my taste buds. I liked the sauces of the Siam Sampler better with the crispy pata.
The Thai Grilled Spareribs with Honey and Thai Herbs tastes really good, but the serving isn’t as impressive as the crispy pata though. I suppose the serving was pretty decent relative to its price.

Prices as of December 2008
Pakalista Verdict
Siam deserves a rating of 9 for food, 9 for service, and 10 for ambience. Did I say I like the menu’s design? Real classy indeed.

Mog—I have to say.. the crispy pata in Thai version in Siam taste good but pales in comparison to our Pinoy version.. I like my crispy pata to be really crispy the one in Siam was not.
