For the past few weeks, DiningCebu.com featured home-grown Filipino restaurants in Cebu Tsiboom and Golden Cowrie, and also popular pizza places like (the controversial) Alberto’s Pizza and Calda Pizza.
This week the Pakalistas of DiningCebu.com will bring you some Chinese loving. The Chinese have very strong influence on Filipino cuisine. Typical examples are the pansit and the lumpia, which are very much of Chinese origin but are also served in Filipino restaurants in the Philippines. But whatever origin it comes from, as long as it tastes good, affordable, and easy to prepare, the Filipinos will love it!
Dimsum Break is one of my favorite Chinese restaurant in Cebu. They have so many branches all over Cebu that it is impossible if you haven’t tried Dimsum Break. This is also among the top choices for my family whenever they decide to order take-out.

Pork and Beef Steamed Rice

Siomai

Fried Wanton

Steamed Fish
Quick Review
Dimsum Break is still a good choice when you’re looking for a fastfood Chinese restaurant in Cebu. Dimsum Break’s steamed rice is not the same as before when your bowl will be completely filled up with the sauce and the rice is so compressed. The flavor of the sauce is just the same but it is not as rich and thick as before .
The fried wanton is one of my favorite Chinese food in Dimsum Break aside from the stuffed taro, siomai, and shrimp ball. I like it because it is crunchy and oily! LOL! But I really notice that its size is not as big as before, nevertheless, it tastes great especially with the sweet and sour sauce. This goes well with the chili and ginger sauce too.
The steamed fish is something I would never order. It made a cameo appearance here because Pakalista Jon was with us. Well to be fair with, it was a decent tasting fish. A bit salty but still ok and very affordable.
