I took Fedge to Persian Palate months ago because I want to prove to him that healthy, pork-less food can be had with enjoyment. Sure enough, he did enjoy most of my choices. So meat lovers out there, don’t be intimidated by the healthy food served in Persian Palate.
Persian Palate in Ayala is the best branch so far. The servings and ambience are so much better than those in other parts of the city.
Mixed Vegetable Soup

Hummus – chick peas with olive oil

Babaganoosh – eggplant with olive oil

Veggie Beef Biryani – rice with veggie meat, white onion, raisins, tomatoes

Musaka – beef with eggplant, tomatoes, yoghurt

Wheat Bread with Mango Chutney

Persian Palate Mint Tea

I am a Persian Palate fan for years now. The branches in Ayala and Mango Square serve the best Persian food for me. My favorites are Persian Palate’s tomato soup, beef eskender kebab, and veggie beef biryani. I am not a vegetarian, and probably never will be, but veggie beef biryani is one of my favorite food (dare I say) of all time. I just can’t get enough of the tasty way the veggie meat is cooked and the other flavors and texture in this dish. I suppose the biggest factor is that I never feel guilty after eating a plate full of it because it is healthy, no MSG people! Yes, meatloving Fedge enjoyed veggie beef biryani as well.
I hope a lot more Cebuanos would try Persian Palate. There’s a lot of great-tasting food in this Cebu restaurant.

I recommend that you try their tofu and spinach curry (add 50 pesos to add in veggie meat and you can ask them to add in some tomatoes and onions for extra flavor) and their shawarma (i personally like veggie meat shawarma).
