It has been a while since I dined in SM City Cebu because I always find myself roaming around the Terraces Ayala Cebu.
My family had a wonderful dining experience the first time they tried the Flavours of China at the Northwing so I thought I’d try it as well. My only apprehension was that (if I’m not mistaken) they have the same owner as Tempura Japanese Grill, and they may have the same policy regarding taking of food pictures.
Read on and join me as I taste the Flavours of China (and find out if there was any bloodshed!).
Flavours of China served us first with a free kropek appetizer. Wish it was refillable hehe. After a few bites of the kropek, I started taking pictures of it with the crew around and fortunately I was not asked to stop taking pictures.

A few minutes later, our orders arrived. That was mighty fast! Very impressive. It’s either they cook so fast or this was something reheated from the previous day. Joke!

I ordered something new in their menu, the Flavours of China Spareribs (Php 230). I liked it because it was mildly sweet and not sour. The part that I didn’t like though is that the pork meat had fat disguised in all that orange-red sauce. It’s so not cool but forgivable with the OK taste.

We also ordered the Taosi Spareribs Rice Topping (Php 110). I just realized now that we ordered spareribs in different flavors. This one I consider as a typical Chinese cooking with taosi sauce.
I like Flavours of China’s rice toppings because it has a lot sauce, it’s not bland, it’s not too salty. I just wished that they can put more meat toppings because it kinda fell short. But as to taste, it’s good!

Looking at the beverages and refreshments section in their menu, I was really drawn by the picture of Flavours Buco Pandan Sherbet. I liked it because I can really taste the buco, and it had a lot of pandan jelly. This very refreshing especially during this hot summer days!
Overall it was a good dining experience in Flavours of China at the Northwing SM City Cebu. The next time I’d be craving for some Chinese food, I would definitely consider Flavours of China. The Buco Pandan Sherbet is definitely something to come back to! And oh, it’s OK to take pictures there!
